Last weekend I had the chance to work on some hybrid projects.. The first one is a notice board.. I got this idea from Bad Girls Kits. I used mostly IOD's stuffs and Prima flowers here.. and added word strip from Sweet Child of mine kit and torn paper from A Better Me collab. First, I took a piece of cardboard (I tore mine from pizza box, we just had pizza that night lol), I layered the paper pieces, added flowers, lace, and attached the fastener.
The church that I've been going to is covering the series of Beatitudes for the last few weeks.. I was reminded again of how I should behave in difficult times, so I thought of making some kind of reminders that are there for me all the time.. so I did this wall hanger and hand it on my kitchen wall :)
I used my new kit You've got a friend in me to create the digital part. I opened up a Rough and Tough bracket page and used that as my base template and worked from there. I copied the bible verses from Bible Gateway and pasted them on my pages. I printed them out, then cut them out. After that tore 2 pieces of cardboard (from my left over pizza box), a little bit larger than my bracket pages.. painted on them, applied some glitter and then adhered the pages on them.. Lastly I added ribbons, flowers etc and hang them up :)
I hope these projects inspire you to create something this week! I know I always enjoy the process of creating things and find it relaxing :)
I also did some baking on Monday.. I made pavlova (for those who don't know pavlova, it's a dessert made mostly of egg whites and sugar and baked for more than an hour). I wasn't sure of what to do with the rest of the egg yolks.. I wanted to make tiramisu but I didn't have enough cream. I found yellow butter cake recipe that uses only egg yolks so I made the batter, pour it onto cupcakes papers and top it with frosting afterwards. It tastes ok, I think our family is more into cream and chocolate (ganache) instead of icing sugar :)
Ok, I have to get back to work now.. will come back later :)
Ciao!
